PSP owners were all a twitter late last year when it was announced that Capcom would give out specially designed D-Pad replacements with all preorders of the Japanese release of Street Fighter Alpha 3 Double Upper. While most Japanese preorder bonuses are amazingly cool (if not completely useless) this one seemed necessary for anyone who wanted to play the game without reliving the same problems that plagued Darkstalkers Chronicles. Well, now American gamers can pull off super fireballs on their handhelds without injury, as every copy of Street Fighter Alpha 3 MAX preordered through Capcom's official site will also receive the D-Pad replacement.
Sitting atop the existing directional pad like a cap, the Capcom replacement is ideal for smooth motion, although the permanant adhesive that binds it may void the PSP's warranty.
