Alien

We first told you about it before E3, and now it’s official. Sierra Entertainment today announced the development of a game based on the upcoming Alien Vs. Predator film. Slated for the PSP, the game is being developed by Rebellion, the creators of the original Alien Vs. Predator game for PC and Jaguar.

The unnamed PSP game will be a third-person action-adventure title. Players will experience what it’s like to fight as an elite Predator, with an arsenal of exotic weapons and equipment. Among the weapons are: wrist blades, laser trip mines and dual shoulder cannons. As a predator, players will also be able to cloak themselves or use the signature thermal vision we’re all so familiar with from the movies.

A co-op multiplayer mode allows players to team up with friends wirelessly and play as the Predator’s comrades, helping to eradicate hoards of vicious aliens. Adding to the game’s features is an honor point system that will evaluate the player’s success based on how closely they adhere to the Predator’s value system. The higher the honor achievement, the more weapon and armor upgrades available to the player.

That’s all for now. Stay tuned for a release date (rumored to be by the end of the year) and more information as we get it.
