Take skull-shattering, bone-crushing battles with you on the PSP.
Soulcalibur fans should be happy to hear that a brand new Soulcalibur title is headed for the PSP this summer. Entitled Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny, it's set to feature 20 familiar characters from the successful fighting franchise. A single-player mode is set to provide a brand new departure for those who can't wait to get their match on with Sony's diminutive handheld.
Borrowing heavily from the previous titles, this Soulcalibur will bring some of the same game mechanics its bigger cousins made popular, such as Critical Finishes, and a character creation mode that should offer the opportunity for gamers to create their own brawlers, as seen in Soulcalibur IV.
Because the tradition of the PSP, as well as handhelds, has always been to enhance gaming experiences on the go, Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny allows for bone-crunching battles on the go via the PSP's ad-hoc wireless mode.
This entry into the series looks to be an impressive port of the "bigger," more "spectacular" versions that cost twice as much and offer more options, and should allow everyone who follows the lore to enjoy it rather than those who are wallowing in cash. Perhaps "little-brother" experiences of blockbuster games is what the PSP needs right now to bring it out of its rut!
You can look for Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny on store shelves this summer, the perfect time to snap up a portable fighter and take it on the road!
